Dave’s band, as we call it, began to become famous during the H.O.R.D.E. concerts of the 90s. These concerts were the response to Lollapaloosa back at that time, trying to set up an alternate alternative scene. The difficulty in saying “that’s how they became famous!” is high, because everyone heard about this band from somewhere else. But it’s not hard to see where the general movement came from. A few weeks ago, two bands from that movement played back-to-back dates at the Post-Gazette Pavillion in the Pittsburgh area. The DMB played first and then the next night came Phish to play at exactly the same venue. This makes for one of the best weekends that you’re going to see at a non-festival concert venue all summer. As always, DMB did a great job with its music.
