We just have a few weeks before the Dave Matthews Band releases their newest album: December 16th is that day.  It’s going to be an amazing day, because there are two live albums being released from the band that day. “Live at Mile High Music Festival” and “Live Trax Vol. 13″ are going to be great albums to add to your collection. Plus, the band seems to feel really good about these particular albums, and one of them is the last album for LeRoi Moore and the first for his replacement, Jeff Coffin. Dave is thinking about you…are you thinking about Dave?

There really isn’t all that much to report about the Dave Matthews Band right now. They are going to release a Live album later this year, which is a recording of their Mile High Festival performance, and will be the first to use Jeff Coffin, the replacement for LeRoi. Dave Matthews had a good week last week, because his candidate of choice was elected President.  So he’s doing well these days, but he’s not on tour or doing all that much in public. So in lieu of reading a long blog entry, just put on your favorite Dave Matthews song and chill a minute or two.

“Live at Mile High Music Festival” is going to be released shortly by the Dave Matthews Band. The live CD, recorded last July at the inaugural Mile High Music Festival just outside Denver, Colorado, will feature some of the last recordings of former band member Leroi Moore. It’s on pre-order sale right now at their website.

There are rumors out in the internet right now that saxophonist Jeff Coffin is in talks with the Dave Matthew’s Band to join permanently as a replacement for LeRoi Moore.  Moore passed away from injuries sustained in an ATV accident last summer.  Coffin has been the temporary saxophone replacement for the band since that tragedy.  He is originally from the band The Fleckstones.  Coffin is, however, scheduled to keep playing with the Fleckstones during their tour into next year.  Obviously, it’ll be tough to replace LeRoi, but Coffin seems like the obvious choice at this point and he seems to fit in the band quite well.
